Is this Familiar?
-
On the outside, you survive. On the inside, you’re getting more & more scared.
-
You have responsibilities - Home, Family, Children & Work.
-
Residential Addiction treatment isn’t possible or what you want.
-
At home, things are strained. Trust has taken hits. People are pulling away.
-
You hold shame and you want help that’s real, respectful, and complete.
What's Different about Gate?
“ The question is not Why the addiction? but Why the pain? ’”
Gabor Maté - In The Realm of Hungry Ghosts
Addiction isn’t just “bad habits”. It becomes a way to cope, to numb stress, sadness, pressure, loneliness, anger, grief, or old pain that never had a chance to heal.
Gate Recovery Online is an evidence-based recovery programme that focuses on finding this "Why". That's our difference and from that knowledge, together with you, we build inner control. So you don’t have to rely on a substance or behaviour to cover pain.

Step 1
Start the Conversation
Speak with our expert & experienced addiction counsellors who work with and understands Alcohol Addiction, Drug Addiction or Gambling Addiction. Its a free no-cost call - all we ask is that a family member or a core friend is part of that call.
Step 2
Complete a Private Assessment
On the call, we’ll do a private, confidential assessment to get clarity. It helps us to start understanding the "Why" of your addiction. What’s driving the cycle, what’s keeping it going, and how we tune the programme to your needs.
Step 3
Begin the 12 Week Programme
Start your 12-week programme. Each week, two private one-to-one sessions shaped by your assessment, plus one compassionate group session to handle life’s ups and downs.
Gate Recovery Limerick - Programme Details
12 weeks. 3 sessions per week.
Every week includes:
1) Two private one-to-one therapy sessions
These sessions focus on the “why” issues learnt from your private assessment. Together we learn more about what the addiction is doing for you. What the addiction is protecting you from. What keeps the addiction going.
For each one-to-one session, your therapist picks a worksheet from our topic library based on your initial assessment. You then complete that worksheet in between sessions. Then together we unpack your work in an addiction focussed therapy session.
2) One Friday evening recovery group (in our Limerick clinic)
A calm, compassionate weekly session where you reflect on how the week has gone in recovery. You can share, or simply listen. The group leader guides the discussion and invites gentle input from others—so you leave with perspective, support, and practical ideas for the week ahead.

The Assessment wil ask questions that investigate the history and strength of your addiction plus other details of your life. Following that successful assessment and fee agreement, you will be introduced to your Tralee Counsellor, where scheduling of the 2 personal sessions and 1 group session per week takes place - normally Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evening.

It is a one year commitment where "group-meets" take place one evening per week at our location.
This service offers a structured, ongoing space to maintain recovery, combining mental health support with peer-based group therapy, helping participants build resilience, prevent relapse, and stay connected on their recovery journey.
Sometimes clients wish to compliment the group work with one to one mental health therapy. This is recommended and lasts as long as the client experiences benefit. Just call and it can be quickly arranged.
